The bigger sizes of the 00565 Series Heavy Duty Breakaway Pin Kits (00565-300 to 00565-900) are designed for use with 00560-020 Breakaway Connector. Originally developed for contractors installing gas ducting, these connectors protect against overload during installation, ensuring the integrity of the ducting.
The break value varies according to the breakaway point and is determined by the number of pins used simultaneously. The break value can range from 3,000 to 45,000 lbs, depending on the specific configuration. For instance, a single pin with a breaking load of 3,000 lbs will provide a total breaking load of 15,000 lbs when five pins are used together.Their application has expanded to include fiber-optic pulling, line-stringing, and innovative marine and vehicular towing solutions. For optimal performance, install the pin to the specified torque to prevent fatigue when loads are below the preload value.
